THE STATE FORUM OF BANKERS’ CLUBS (KERALA):
The forum better known as SFBCK was formed in the year 2006 at Kozhikode and is an umbrella organization for the Bankers’ Clubs functioning in the state of Kerala. Name of Sri. K.U Balakrishan, the founder General Secretary of the forum is synonymous with the Forum. It was his long cherished dream to bring all the bankers’ clubs functioning in the state under one platform and organize mega programs like Banking Excellence Award presentation, Banking Seminars, Interbank sports/games tournaments etc to showcase the hidden talents of the bankers of the state and proliferate the name of the Forum in the length and breadth of the country. The activities of the Forum is lauded not only by the bankers but public at large and commented by the doyens of the industry. As on now, more than 37 clubs from different parts of the state are affiliated to the Forum which is registered as a Trust.
SFBCK BANKING EXCELLKENCE & BEST BUSINESSMAN AWARD:
Every year the Forum organizes ‘Banking Excellence & Businessman of the year’ award function to honor the best performers in the banking industry at the national level and the business personality who has contributed to the welfare of the state economy during the year. A jury consists of eminent personalities from banking and financial sectors select the winners through a vey transparent process. The panel of judges also pick up one individual for the ‘Business Man of the Year’ award who have contributed immensely to the growth of the economy of the state.
SEMINARS ON BANKING:
Seminars are being conducted on banking and related topics to educate and enlighten the banking fraternity of the state at regular intervals by the Forum where the eminent bankers are invited to present their views on varied subjects related to financial sector.
LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:
Life time achievement award is being instituted by SFBC, every year to honour an individual considering their valuable contributions to the banking and financial sector of Kerala. Sri.Vittal Das Leeladhar, former deputy Governor RBI, Sri.K.P.Padmakumar, former Chairman, Federal Bank and Sri A.Sethumadhavan, former Chairman of South Indian Bank were the earlier recipients of this award from the State Forum
OTHER ACTIVITIES OF SFBCK:
Every year SFBCK organizes all Kerala Interbank cricket tournament, all Kerala Inter Bank Chess Tournament and All Kerala Inter Bank Shuttle Badminton Tournament.
CHARITY PROGRAMMES:
State Forum of Bankers Clubs as well as other clubs affiliated to it are engaged in several philanthropic activities. During the recent flood in Kerala SFBCK and its affiliated clubs were in the forefront in the flood relief measures in the entire state. Substantial amounts have been pooled by the members of the clubs and were utilized for providing essentials to those badly affected by the flood. Forum and its members have contributed generously to the Chief Ministers Disaster Relief Fund too.
